COLLEGE STAFF ARE SET FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION THIS WEEK
STAFF are taking strike action this week claiming that college bosses refused to make a fair offer over pay and working conditions.
The University and College Union (UCU) say that staff at Chesterfield College will walk out tomorrow, Thursday and Friday.
Staff will be on picket lines at the following sites from 7am till 10am tomorrow and Thursday:
■Main college entrance, Infirmary Road
■Goods Yard entrance, Infirmary Road
■Gate 7, Sheffield Road
Striking staff from Chesterfield and across England will rally at the Emmanuel Centre in Westminster from noon on Friday.
UCU, alongside its sister unions NEU, GMB, Unison and Unite, is calling for a 'New Deal for FE' (further education), including pay parity with school teachers, national workload agreements and a binding national bargaining framework.
