Nurse 'disgusted' after paying £16k for car with 'risk of engine failure'

A NURSE says she was left “in tears” after buying a car from a Derby dealership only to take it home and be met with an engine warning light.

Kayleigh Watt, a nurse based in Nottingham, bought a 2022-reg Renault Arkana from Motorpoint on December 16, a decision which itself followed frustration after Kayleigh was forced to return another car to a dealer just days beforehand.

That first return came with “no problems at all” after a fault was identified, but the mum-of-one thought it would be best to play it safe with her second purchase and turned to Motorpoint.

She bought the Renault for £16,000 in cash and left the dealership confident she would have a reliable car for the years ahead - or at least over the Christmas period, during which Kayleigh had busy shift patterns.

On the way home, she had a tyre pressure warning light and the DAB radio wasn’t working, but she was not overly concerned, and was happy to take it back to the dealership the following weekend.
