National accolade for construction team who Master bungalow project

DERBYSHIRE-BASED SG Design and Build (Construction) Ltd was crowned National Winner for the Medium Renovation Project - Sponsored by The Lighthouse Charity - at the Federation of Master Builders' 2025 Master Builder Awards on September 26, recognising an incredible transformation in Duffield that reconfigured a bungalow into a light-filled home with a vaulted rear extension and panoramic glazing.

The Master Builder Awards are regarded as the highest industry accolade - positioning SG among the very best builders in the country.
The award win comes as the FMB's latest State of Trade Survey shows the UK's construction industry gaining real momentum in the first half of 2025, with workloads up 25% and enquiries up 34% - the first simultaneous growth in workload, enquiries and employment since 2023.
The bungalow's centrepiece is a 700kg glazed apex frame craned into place after six months of planning-a 60-metre lift that left no margin (10kg more and it wouldn't fly).
