Former lace factory could become 80 apartments

PLANS ARE SUBMITTED FOR FLATS, WITH FIRM KEEN TO SAFEGUARD HISTORIC MILL
A DEVELOPER has submitted plans to transform and restore a town landmark into dozens of new apartments.
ALB Group bought Bridge Mills in Derby Road, Long Eaton, in 2021 with a view to converting the three-storey former lace factory into homes.
The developer has now submitted planning documents for the brick-built mill’s conversion into 80 oneand two-bedroom apartments, with property prices expected to begin at around £140,000.
It is hoped the development could be ready within 18 months.
Arran Bailey, managing director at ALB, said: “Long Eaton has a long lace-making and manufacturing history, and its buildings are a reminder of that proud past.
