Emergency accommodation set up for 'the coming days' after city homes evacuated

EMERGENCY accommodation was arranged for “overnight and the coming days” after around 200 Derby homes were evacuated as part of a major police incident, writes
Derbyshire Police first confirmed just before 2.30pm that the homes had been evacuated as a precaution after a search warrant had been executed at an address on Vulcan Street.
The evacuation zone was put in place after officers carried out the warrant, based on intelligence about materials at the address.
Two Polish nationals, one in his 40s and another in his 50s, have now been arrested on suspicion of explosives offences and they remain in police custody.
