A HALIFAX branch in Derby city centre is among dozens of banks across the UK that will close their doors for the final time over the next few months.

Derby East Street branch shuts its doors for good on October 23.

Commenting when the closure was first announced in January, a spokesperson for Halifax said: "Before we close any branch, we look at how our customers are managing their money and using the branch.

"Most customers are now using our mobile banking app, online banking or calling us instead, which means they are using branches much less. Because of this, we'll be closing our Derby East Street branch."

The Halifax branch in Spring Gardens, Buxton, is also closing.
