Community music festival hopes to be annual event
August 25, 2025
|Derby Telegraph
A FREE music festival is coming to Derby - celebrating the city's diverse and vibrant musical talent, while launching a new annual tradition.
-
The Derby Community Music Festival is the brainchild of former Derby North MP Amanda Solloway, Derbyshire Lord Lieutenant Elizabeth Fothergill, and Catherine James from the voluntary sector.
Their vision is to create an event that not only showcases local talent but also brings communities together - and one they hope will return year after year.
The festival takes place over two separate dates at two different venues, making it accessible to as many people as possible.
The first event will be held on September 12 at Derby Hindu Temple, Pear Tree, starting at 7pm.
