Care leavers enjoy festive celebration thanks to rail maintenance firm

YOUNG people who grew up in the care system will enjoy an afternoon of festive fun in Derby today at their annual Christmas party, hosted by rail company MTMS.

Care-leavers get into the festive spirit
The event is taking place today at the Derby Masonic Hall in Littleover, following the success of the firm's first at Ashfield House, in Ashby Road, on December 5, where more than 100 young people aged 16 and over were driven in from across the region.
The party featured a magician, musical entertainment, a visit from Santa and face painting, all provided by volunteers including members of the Derbyshire Freemasons and staff from the Swadlincote-based rail maintenance firm.
