Bike racer remains in coma following crash

FUNDRAISING TO HELP CALLUM'S FAMILY STAY AT HOSPITAL BEDSIDE PASSES £20K

A MOTORBIKE racer badly injured in a crash at Donington Park remains in a medically induced coma.

Callum Grigor was injured in a collision during the Pirelli National Superstock Championship race on September 6.

The 27-year-old rider was approaching Goddards Corner when he was involved in a collision with Nathan Harrison.

A post on the British Superbike website by his team said Grigor is still in the induced coma and is fighting a developing chest infection after he suffered initial trauma to his lungs and chest.

The statement said: "Team Grigor would like to thank everyone for their continued love and support during the last week."

A fund set up to help his family remain at his bedside had passed £20,000 yesterday.

His team said: "We are absolutely blown away and humbled by the generosity of others wanting to help at this difficult time.
