PLANS INCLUDE DEMOLISHING A CLASSROOM BLOCK AND REPLACING IT WITH A UNIT CONTAINING FOUR CLASSROOMS
A £2 MILLION upgrade of a Derby school designed to increase student numbers has taken a key step forward.
Derby City Council has submitted a planning application to itself to expand Wren Park Primary School in Littleover.
The plans include demolishing a temporary "poor conditioned" two-classroom block and building a new learning facility in its place which will consist of four classrooms.
Proposals also include the creation of a new MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) within the school grounds.
There are currently 50 staff employed but the plans do not involve changes to staffing levels.
