Cops investigate after Deputy President's convoy was shot at

AS AN armed gunman fired shots at a presidential convoy, the target of an alleged assassination attempt, Deputy President Paul Mashatile, says he thought the car had been hit by stones.

It was only after the vehicle was thoroughly inspected did he realise it had been bullets.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a recent visit to the KwaSizabantu mission in KwaZuluNatal on Easter Sunday, Mashatile confirmed that an investigation into he shooting is under way.

He added that he did not know the motive for the shooting.
