Water restrictions are only way to prevent disaster in Wes-Kaap'

A HYDROLOGY and environmental engineering expert has a warning: restrictions in the Western Cape will be needed to avoid a major crisis.

This week, the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) highlighted growing concern over declining water levels across the Wes-Kaap.

On Tuesday, the DWS reported that lower-than-normal rainfall has caused dam storage across the province to drop steadily week-on-week.
