ACTIVISTS CALL FOR DEFINITION CHANGE
ANIMAL rights activists say using “rat” to describe a nasty person is offensive to rodents.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants the Cambridge Dictionary to ditch the term.
It claims the alternative meaning of an “unpleasant person who deceives others or is not loyal” is unjustified and puts rats in danger.
