Brilliant Brit Norris lifts F1 world title in desert showdown

LANDO NORRIS sobbed with joy as his dream of becoming Formula One world champion came true.

McLaren star Norris landed the podium finish he needed in Abu Dhabi as he ended the reign of Max Verstappen - and with it joined Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button as Britain's only F1 champs in the last 28 years.

"I have dreamed of this for a long, long time," Norris, 26, said.
