JAMIE SMITH fired England's blazing saddles to a one-day clean sweep in a turn-up for the bikes.
-
Amid farcical scenes before start of play, skipper Harry Brook had led a peloton of players pitching up the Kia Oval on e-bikes after their team coach was stuck in gridlocked traffic.
Then Smith's violent 64 off 28 balls made light of England's chase as they wrapped up a 3-0 win against West Indies by seven wickets with 10.2 overs to spare.
When faulty traffic lights and roadworks turned the five-mile journey from their Kensington hotel into an exercise of going nowhere fast, Brook's boys found a way to beat the jams.
"We were on the bus for a while, so we all decided to get off and get some Lime bikes in," said the England captain after his chain gang dodged the chaos.
