WITH the Great British summer in full swing, a trip to the seaside has never looked more appealing. And if you're doing it properly, there should obviously be fish and chips on the menu.

But how do you choose the perfect paper bag of cod? Our HARRY THOMPSON hit the beach in Blackpool, Lancashire to investigate. Here's what happened when he pitted a traditional chippy against the fanciest in town...

SEARCH online for "best fish and chips in Blackpool" and it's likely one place will cut through the noise.

Papa's Fish and Chips, crowned the winner of Britain's Best Takeaway in 2017 by celebrity chef Tom Kerridge.

Located on the prom-enade, it feels like a big pub, with tables and booths around an al-most 360-degree bar kitted out with beer taps and booze bottles.
