Trent makes a fluent start but now must walk the walk

NEW arrival Trent Alexander-Arnold warmed himself to the Real Madrid supporters straight away with a welcome speech in Spanish.

The now ex-Liverpool full-back went through the staged medical pictures in the capital of Spain before he sat in an auditorium to watch the highlights of his career so far.

Alexander-Arnold, 26, will be hoping to add plenty more to that montage now he is set to wear the white of Real.

He spoke in fluent Spanish for over a minute, which showed he may have been doing a bit more than a daily Duolingo hit.

It brought plenty of applause from the club officials and invited guests, which included his girlfriend Estelle Behnke, his parents and brothers, who were no doubt impressed.

Now it is about continuing to impress them on the football pitch.

Alexander-Arnold has been a long-term target for the Spanish giants. They were so keen to land him that they paid £10m to get him before his Liverpool contract expired at the of the month, allowing him to play in the Club World Cup.
