Sad to make you happy at Sandown

- By Mark Winstanley

THREE tracks share the ITV spotlight this afternoon and first up is the William Hill Silver Cup Handicap at Beverley.

CROWN OF OAKS (1.30) gets a 7lb weight-for-age allowance from his older rivals, so William Haggas' improving sort will be hard to beat off a perch of 85.

The shrewd Mick Appleby had KODI LION (1.50) entered in a much easier race at Thirsk yesterday but has instead decided to run his beast in the trickier BetMGM App Handicap over seven furlongs at Sandown Park.

This tells me that the four-year-old will run a big race off a perch of 92, as he was very unlucky last time out at Haydock Park three weeks ago when second off a rating of 91.

The booking of Will Buick to do the steering seals the deal for me.

Clive Cox has saddled more sprint winners than Paddington Bear has devoured marmalade sandwiches, which leads me to believe REDORANGE (2.05) is the speedster to be with in the Listed Willliam Hill Beverley Bullet run over five furlongs at the Humberside venue.

Second in similar company at Deauville 20 days ago, the three-year-old is progressing and he looks sure to go very adjacent.

BLUE BOLT (2.25) showed her liking for Sandown Park when taking a Listed affair over course and distance in July, and that form has been franked as the third, Suite Francaise, obliged on her next outing at Haydock Park.
