Stinking row as poo spills soar 60% in just one year

THE number of serious pollution spills by water firms has soared, say watchdogs.
The Environment Agency revealed there was a 60% rise in incidents in 2024 compared with 2023.
It blasted poor performance by all nine UK water and sewerage firms.
Environment Secretary Steve Reed called the figures "disgraceful".
