READING have appointed Ruben Selles as manager and had a transfer embargo lifted – but it’s still bleak for the Berkshire club.

The Royals had to wait for Selles to be granted an employment visa before he could start work.

The Spaniard’s clearance finally came through on Thursday and head of football operations Mark Bowen said: “It has taken longer than any of us wished or anticipated but it was imperative that we got the appointment of a new first-team manager right.”
