ROMERO DEAL SPUR-FECT

CRISTIAN ROMERO has given Tottenham a huge boost by committing himself to a new contract until 2029.

It represents a massive turnaround for the defender (right) who was unsettled last summer but was last week made captain by new boss Thomas Frank.

Romero, 27, was also courted by Atletico Madrid and there were fears he could leave this summer as he prepared to enter the final two years of his deal.
