ANGELA Rayner is plotting for a Labour leadership battle by shoring up support, sources claim.

She is said to be offering Cabinet roles to MPs in exchange for their backing.

Rayner quit as Deputy Prime Minister and Housing Secretary in September.

Her resignation came after an ethics probe found she breached the ministerial code by underpaying stamp duty on a flat.
