Jimenez double as Fulham cruise
-
IF YOU need a player to rely on when it comes to a penalty, look no further than Fulham's Raul Jimenez.
By the time his stuttered run up ended with him scoring yesterday, just the past the hour mark, he had already broken the deadlock seven minutes earlier.
Sunderland then cut the deficit with their own spot-kick, converted by Enzo Le Fee. But five minutes from time, Alex Iwobi latched on to Harry Wilson's sensational pass to ensure Fulham were home and dry.
They had moved 2-0 in front thanks to Jimenez's perfection from 18 yards - because the Mexican striker has the best 100 per cent record from penalties in Premier League history, scoring all 13 he has taken.
How vital his goals were yesterday as Fulham ended a run of three straight Premier League defeats, along with recording their first Premier League double over Sunderland since the 2002-03 season under Jean Tigana.
