KIERAN MCKENNA is convinced Ipswich's daunting start to the season can fast-track his rookies to glory.

Tomorrow's trip to champions Manchester City follows a 2-0 home defeat by Liverpool on the opening weekend.

The Tractor Boys, back in the top flight after 22 years away, could hardly have been handed a tougher return to the big time.

Especially as the majority of the squad were preparing to take on Forest Green in League One this time two years ago.
