ROCK and roll royalty said a tearful goodbye to Stone Roses hero Mani at his funeral yesterday.

Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher was among musicians and footballers who turned out to pay respects to the legendary bassist, real name Gary Mounfield.

Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown said at yesterday's Manchester Cathedral service: "We will celebrate his life like the beautiful human being that he was - he's a brother to me."
