PEP GUARDIOLA claims it didn’t “hurt” watching Europe’s other top teams in the Champions League as Manchester City did not deserve to be there.

Guardiola was reduced to the role of a spectator this week, sitting at home on his settee with a nice glass of wine, after failing to reach the last 16 for the first time as a manager.

He came to terms with his disappointment when City lost to Real Madrid in the previous round and insists he has no regrets.

"It doesn’t hurt," said the City boss. "People say that but I don’t have any disappointment or regrets.
