Littler topples Humphries twice

LUKE LITTLER became the sport's youngest-ever world No.1 yesterday - and then added to it by retaining his Grand Slam of Darts crown.

The world champion, 18, is officially the best player in the world after overhauling Luke Humphries (inset) at the summit of the rankings.

Littler achieved the feat following his semifinal win against Danny Noppert in Wolverhampton, before defeating his great rival 16-11 in the final. Littler, who banked £150,000 for his glory last night, has amassed £1.85m in prize money in less than two years on the PDC's Order of Merit.
