Sneyd can go from mess to messiah

MARC SNEYD still can't quite believe he's getting another shot at Wembley.

It was only recently the ex-England scrum-half was marooned in Salford's financial mess, staring at a bleak future and unsure if he could even play due to their stifling sustainability cap.

Yet, just three months after a £75,000 transfer to Warrington, he's now plotting to leave Hull KR in a mess of their own and lift the Challenge Cup once more.

Sneyd has enjoyed plenty of success in rugby league's most prestigious knock-out competition, winning it with Hull in 2016 and retaining it 12 months later.

But looking back at his unusual path to today's showpiece, Sneyd, 34, admitted: "It's a hard one. It's all still going on at Salford.
