Stanway's home truths ahead of crunch clash

GEORGIA STANWAY admits England will deserve to go home early from Euro 2025 if they can't get the result they need against Holland.

Sarina Wiegman’s team suffered a 2-1 loss against France in their opening game at Stadion Letzigrund in Zurich and will return there for their second group match.

Defeat would almost certainly spell the end of England’s campaign, while a draw would leave their fate out of their hands.

“It’s reality,” said Stanway. “If we're not good enough on Wednesday, then we don’t deserve to continue in the tournament.”

The Lionesses struggled with France's wing play, though Stanway recognises Holland offer a different kind of test.
