RYDER CUP hopefuls Matt Fitzpatrick and Matt Wallace face a nervous wait to see if their strong showings at the Omega European Masters will earn them a call-up.

Europe skipper Luke Donald names his six captain's picks today for this month's showdown with the USA at Bethpage Black in New York.

The smart money is on Donald opting for experience to handle the hostile atmosphere that will await his team as they attempt to retain the prize across the pond.

That would seem to play into Fitzpatrick’s hands, despite his record of eight matches played, one point earned.
