WILD boar numbers are set to soar across Britain - with thousands of the once hunted-to-extinction porkers on the loose.

Boffins say numbers will rocket over the next 50 years. It follows a resurgence of wild boar in our forests since the mid-1970s, through a combination of accidental escapes and illegal reintroductions from overseas.
