SLOT ADMITS GOODISON RANT WAS A 'MISTAKE'

ARNE SLOT admits he was wrong when he blew his top at the end of the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

The Liverpool head coach was charged yesterday with being abusive to match officials after receiving a red card at the final whistle in the 2-2 draw.

And both clubs have been charged with their players and coaching staff behaving in an improper and/or provocative way after a scuffle broke out following Everton skipper James Tarkowski's equaliser eight minutes into stoppage time.

"I should have acted differently after the game, but it's an emotional sport and sometimes individuals make the wrong decision, and that's definitely what I did," said Slot.

"I think what happened was that the extra time, which was five minutes, ended up being eight.
