Hotsot Jaden ends long wait for derby glory

JADEN PHILOGENE had Portman Road rocking with a goal for the ages as Ipswich celebrated their first Old Farm victory in 16 years.

Philogene struck just before halftime to make it 2-1 as he collected the ball in midfield, turned Pelle Mattsson, ran forward and fired a rocket of a shot from fully 30 yards out.

His stunner restored the hosts’ advantage after Cedric Kipre’s 32nd-minute opener had been cancelled out by Oscar Schwartau.

Jack Clarke added a third goal 13 minutes from time to move Ipswich up to ninth, two points off the top six.

“We looked back with the group this week at special moments in the derby and part of that was, ‘This is your chance to step up and have your moment’,” said Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna.
