Nmecha can give Slot boys Ell of a fright

- by ALEX HANKIN

LEEDS gunslinger Lukas Nmecha can have his say in today’s bunfight at the OK-ish Corral.

Elland Road spirits are on the rise, but with two vulnerable defences on show, Liverpool's visit to Leeds (5.30pm) could turn into a old-fashioned goal rush.

The game will be hyped as two managers under a bit of pressure, but it’s only one really, isn’t it? Arne Slot must have one of the safest gigs in all of football.

Liverpool have employed just 23 permanent managers since they began in 1892, the same year Wild West outlaws the Dalton Gang were gunned down in a shootout in Kansas.

True the Anfield turnover rate has galloped on a bit in the past 25 years, but Leeds have shot through 23 permanent bosses in that period on its own.

Daniel Farke is the latest man perched on the edge of the Elland Road hotseat in the shadow of Boot Hill. But Wednesday's 3-1 home defeat of Chelsea saw him pony up with a new idea ~ a 3-5-2 formation ~ that unlocked a better performance.

Liverpool drew 1-1 at home to Sunderland and look confused as much as anything. No coincidence that Mo Salah, on at halftime, is performing well below his numbers from last season.

His upcoming Africa Cup of Nations absence - between three and eight Reds games looks more like an inconvenience than a disaster this time around.
