Between Sunday and November 8, United face a run of games which could define Amorim’s future, starting with a trip to Anfield this Sunday - a place United have not won at since 2016.

Since then, the UK has had six different Prime Ministers and United have had seven different managers.

And the current one can ill afford to return from Liverpool with another crushing loss to add to the long list of them since he took charge.
