JOE WILLOCK didn't just make a triumphant return to Arsenal, he proved Newcastle can flourish without Bruno Guimaraes.

Before Tuesday night, Newcastle had never won a game where Guimaraes had been missing, since they signed the Brazilian from Lyon three years ago.

But former Gunner Willock (left) didn't just fill the massive void left by the suspended Guimaraes, he eased the worries of the Toon Army who feared Newcastle would not function as effectively with their skipper in the stands.
