LIRA the lioness looks anything but the queen of the jungle as she flops unconscious for a critical dental procedure. Dentist Peter Kertesz was tasked with treating the extremely difficult patient at The Big Cat Sanctuary near Ashford, in Kent. Three-year-old Lira, who was rescued from war-torn Ukraine, underwent the operation to remove a severely infected canine tooth, caused by a deep-seated abscess.
