DARWIN NUNEZ showed calmness, composure and class at Brentford last season with a stunning goal that had many believing the Liverpool front man had finally cracked it.

It was in the midst of his best run in a Reds shirt. It was a period of seven goals in nine, or 10 in 14 depending on how big a sample size you took.

Nunez lifted the ball over Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken on a breakaway when some would have expected him to smash it. Yet he returns to the Gtech Community Stadium today with his long-term future at the club in doubt.

Nunez did not score in the final 10 games he played in last season and has only two league goals so far this term.
