Palmer has the chance to become global superstar

ENZO MARESCA believes Cole Palmer will prove that he belongs on the world's biggest stage over the course of the next month.

The England forward has shone for Chelsea since joining from Manchester City two years ago and was instrumental in the knockout stages of the Blues' Conference League success.

Palmer provided two assists to turn the game around against Real Betis in the final, where he was named man of the match, to underline his quality as a game-changer on the biggest occasion.

Lionel Messi, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe are here at the Club World Cup in the United States.

And Chelsea boss Maresca (inset), who knows Palmer from working together at City's academy, believes he is ready to step up to their level and shine this summer.

First up are Los Angeles FC in their opening Group F game in Atlanta tonight.
