This contest promised to be a race for the ages when the draw was made last week, pitting last year’s runner-up against last year’s winner plus the UK’s best in Proper Heiress. However, the withdrawal of Bockos Diamond yesterday means the way could be clear for Graham Holland’s other runner to grab the headlines - finally!

He now has a vacant trap to take advantage of and might get first run on Proper Heiress, for whom qualification might now be easier.

BOMBAY PAT (9.06) has been quickest in both first and second rounds and he, too, can shine for the Holland kennel in heat five.
