Make sure to protect pets in heat

A VET has urged pet owners to use sun cream on their furry friends as the nation nudges towards 30C this week.

Katie Wood issued the plea after a sunburned cat called Bobble had to have her ears amputated when she developed skin cancer.

The four-year-old rescue moggy developed a cyst on one of her ears and her owner Karen Evans took her to the vet immediately.
