Argie bargie in 98 still bugs Owen
MICHAEL OWEN still feels resentment David towards Beckham for his infamous red card at the 1998 World Cup - and wonders just how far England would have gone in the tournament.
And he believes the Three Lions could have "won a World Cup" had Glenn Hoddle remained as manager.
Beckham was sent off for kicking out at Argentina midfielder Diego Simeone during the round-of-16 clash in France.
Owen had earlier scored a brilliant solo goal, but Beckham's dismissal in the 47th minute with the score at 2-2 gave England an uphill battle.
The incident and the public abuse Beckham received has been in the spotlight in recent weeks as it features in the Netflix documentary about him.
