ARNE SLOT says Liverpool are carefully managing Ibrahima Konate's load after the defender claimed he is playing in pain.

Konate returned after nearly six weeks out against Manchester United at the start of the month, but the French centre-half believes he possibly returned too early and can still feel some discomfort in his knee.

Slot says he is trying to give him breaks by playing Jarell Quansah in his place and that he will soon be able to play three times a week, a timely boost for the Reds with so many games coming up in four competitions.
