Birmingham City fought to sign Vicente from Alaves in a £7million January deal.
Plenty in Spain thought a player thriving in La Liga - with 10 goals across all competitions already this season had no business transferring to a Championship team and on this evidence they may be right in their assumption that Vicente is a cut above.
