DUNCAN WEIR says a message from his hero Ally McCoist was the icing on the cake following Glasgow’s URC triumph.

The fly-half made history on Saturday when he became the first Warriors player to win two trophies for the club.

The former Scotland ace was at the heart of the celebrations as Franco Smith’s side stunned the Bulls in South Africa.

But the diehard Rangers fan admitted a text from boyhood idol McCoist was a special moment as the squad returned from South Africa to a rapturous welcome at Glasgow Airport.
