Catherine Tyldesley says Christmas doesn't go to plan for Eva when her big secret is revealed around the dinner table

While Catherine Tyldesley is hoping for a relaxing and family-orientated Christmas this year, it's clear the day will be dramatically different for her Weatherfield character Eva Price.

With a revenge plan in motion and a brutal attack, Catherine, 42, warns that tensions reach boiling point for the Driscoll clan, resulting in some very explosive scenes this festive period.

Eva's mother-in-law Maggie, played by Pauline McLynn, plans to oust her from the family by orchestrating a shocking revelation that threatens to tear the family apart.

Catherine teases: "It's going to be pretty explosive. Aaron [McCusker] and Pauline are just absolutely outstanding in their performances as Ben and Maggie on Christmas Day. Everything just kind of explodes."
