Hovland credits Cup for hitting sparkling form

VIKTOR HOVLAND reckons the FedEx Cup format has helped him bounce back to form as he took the early lead at the BMW Championship.
The Norwegian birdied 17 to claim the clubhouse lead at three under before play was suspended at Caves Valley.
He was one ahead of Michael Kim on 68 but Bob MacIntyre and Tommy Fleetwood were one-under early in their rounds when the weather intervened.
Shane Lowry, like Hovland, one of the first out, carded a 70 for level-par- the same score as Rory McIlroy who had four holes to play.
Hovland, the 2023 BMW Championship winner, is seeking his second win this season and eighth overall.
He entered the week at No.28 in the standings and he's solidifying a top-30 spot with a strong showing so far.
