O'Neill's men might be skating on ice but grab it at death again

CELTIC left it late AGAIN as Martin O'Neill's stoppage time specialists struck in the dying seconds for the third game in a row to stay in the title race.

Never mind the Winter Olympics - Celts have become goal contenders when it comes to skating on thin ice.

The title race hit the skids as Kilmarnock raced to a deserved 2-0 first-half lead.

But O’Neill’s men slalomed their way back in the second period to secure a massive three points in the fight at the top.

Julian Aruajo became the latest last-gasp hero when he fired home in the 97th minute - following the dramatic injury-time win against Livingston in midweek and leveller in the Scottish Cup clash with Dundee.

But this might be the most important of the lot.

It was cruel on Kilmarnock though - who had done more than enough to bag at least a point.

Neil McCann’s men were the more threatening when the immense Tyreece John-Jules fired them ahead after 21 minutes.

The big frontman raced on to Joe Hugill’s nudge inside and looked to have got his feet in a tangle before spinning back inside Auston Trusty and curling a cracker into the bottom corner. It got even better for McCanns men seven minutes later when the same pair hooked up, Hugill superbly looping his header over Kasper Schmeichel from John-Jules's chipped cross.

Killie were good value and O'Neill had to rip up his team for the second half with Reo Hatate, Junior Adamu and Hyun-jun Yang all hooked for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sebastian Tounekti and Tomas Cvancara turning the tide.
