END OF STAMP DUTY BREAK BLAMED

HOUSE prices have fallen at the fastest rate for more than two years - blamed on the end of a tax break for buyers.
Mortgage lender Nationwide said average prices unexpectedly dropped between May and June, by 0.8 per cent to £217,619.
The fall was put down to the ending of a stamp duty holiday in England and Wales.
