RUSSELL GERS ARE BACK IN HUNT
September 29, 2025
|Daily Record
RUSSELL MARTIN watched Rangers leave it late at Livi to finally grab their first win of the season - now he wants his stuttering side to start hunting down their title rivals.
Gers finally climbed out of the relegation slots and up to eighth place but only thanks to a 94th-minute winner from substitute Max Aarons. The goal wasn't enough to silence the furious travelling Light Blue legions who still want the 39-year-old axed.
But Martin hopes the first league victory after six attempts will hush the nagging doubts that have been cluttering his players' thoughts. And now having cut the gap on secondplace Celtic to seven points, he has urged Gers to continue their climb up the table.
Martin, whose men remain nine adrift of Premiership leaders Hearts, said: "I think we're hunting a lot of teams at the moment. It's not just about one team.
